Baking Powder Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons margarine
3/4 cup skim milk

Method

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut margarine in with a blending fork or dough blender until fat is the size of small peas. Add milk all at once. Stir until dough is all mixed and forms a ball.

Roll out on a lightly floured board to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch cutter or roll thicker and cut with a 2-inch cutter. Place 1 inch apart on a baking sheet. Bake 12 to 14 minutes.

This recipe yields 12 servings. Serving size: 1 biscuit.
